Ms. Arun, who set out on a tour of the city, particularly covering the southern areas, witnessed plethora of civic problems.

On the third cross in Pumpwell circle area she saw an overflowing drainage. When she visited the nearby colony she had to face a series of questions and complaints from the residents.

In areas under Maroli ward, Ms. Arun saw that the streetlights were not on. When inquired, she was told that the officials concerned were yet to switch on the lights.

During the tour, she stopped at places where roads were damaged, and instructed the officials to repair the roads immediately. She also stopped on the road opposite Kankanady Market, in Bendoor ward, and asked the officials to repair it.

Speaking to the presspersons during the tour, Ms. Arun said the corporation had taken steps improve the condition of the roads in the city.

She said that she would enquire into the mismanagement of the drainage system.
