CHENNAI : `Samanway 2007,' organised at IIT Madras, produced a blend of intelligence and creativity as leading B-schools from India rehearsed brand-building exercises and public relations campaigns. Inaugurating the B-Fest organised over three days from January 5 by the Department of Management Studies, M. Damodaran, Chairman, SEBI, said identifying core strengths in order to build on them was a key to developing a successful organisation. Speaking on `Strengthening and consolidating India's financial security the regulator's challenge', he said the financial sector was at best a supporting arm of the real sector. K.C Chakrabarty, Chairman and Managing Director, Indian Bank, Prof M. S. Ananth, Director, IIT Madras, and L.S Ganesh, Head, Department of Management Studies, IIT Madras, also spoke. At `Saaransh', paper presentation contest, participants threw up interesting solutions. Competitions were organised in PR Strategy, HR and Operations Research.
