CHENNAI : Immigration authorities here on Tuesday denied having demanded the off-loading of a woman passenger from a Dubai-bound flight. Responding to the news item `Dubai-bound flight delayed' that appeared in these columns on Tuesday, Avi Prakash Sinha, Chief Immigration Officer, Chennai, said the allegation by the passenger that their officer on duty made remarks about her attire was baseless. According to him, around 8.30 p.m. on Sunday, the passenger with her daughter came to the last immigration counter. A staff member V. Sundaram was on duty. Mr. Sinha said the woman gave the two completed embarkation forms and passports separately. However, Mr. Sundaram requested her to keep the filled-in forms in the passports. The woman shouted at him. Even after her papers were cleared, she was standing and tried to enter the counter. However, the Indian ground staff stopped her. After shouting at the officer on duty, she went to the security area. The Immigration authorities have filed a complaint against the passenger with the police, the Chief Immigration Officer said.
