Test your vegetarian culinary skills
Want to know how good you are at turning out a vegetarian gourmet dish? Then head for Raja Muthiah and Rani Meyyammai Hall in Egmore on Friday.
But there is a catch the food should `last for a minimum of 36 hours' and should not contain eggs.
The contest is part of a mega vegetarian food expo 2007 that will commemorate the golden jubilee of the Indian Vegetarian Congress, a non-governmental organisation.
The displayed food must weigh a minimum of 500 gm and should be wrapped in transparent cellophane food wrapper. The recipe must be original.
The best dish will be judged for taste, novelty and nutrient value by a panel of experts. Participants will receive certificates and mementos.
Those interested may contact the organisation's office before Thursday.
The contest will begin at 9 a.m. and spot registrations will be accepted. For further details, contact: Srilakshmi Mohan Rao/K. Gomathy at 98402-47916/24802768.
