`Complete projects on time'
In response to Public Eye feature on infrastructure projects in Bangalore, S. Sheshadri of R.P.C. Layout says The Hindu has rightly drawn the attention of the BMP and BDA to incomplete projects and hardships caused to road users. The underpass near Magadi Road Chord Road junction does not find mention in the list, he says.
Traffic diversion to narrow roads here has affected vehicle users adversely.
Though building an underpass is not easy, heavy traffic flow in the area demands that it be completed on time.Men and machinery deployed are not adequate and the work is slow, he adds.
G.S. Narayanan, Secretary of Jayanagar Study Centre, says infrastructure projects have hit a roadblock, though the Chief Minister has set deadlines. This is the time to act. Awareness and affirmative action are both required by one and all. Bureaucracy has to take the measures required.
