Training of truck drivers to end soon

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Labour Minister G. Vinod said here on Wednesday that training for the first batch of truck drivers for jobs in the United States of America (USA) was coming to an end very soon. The drivers are being trained at Vijayawada.

He told reporters that there was enormous scope for employment for truck drivers in the US. Before, sending the drivers for VISA, the OMCAP (Overseas Manpower Company of Andhra Pradesh Ltd.) would examine all the trainees as to whether they were fluent in English and perfect in driving.

Besides, the company would also examine the facilities offered to Indian drivers in the US. He said the OMCAP would also examine the extent of employment opportunities, living and working conditions in the US.
