Call for new law on self-financing colleges

KOCHI: The Indian Association of Lawyers has demanded that the Government frame a new law to govern self-financing colleges. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, association general secretary A.Jayashankar said the Government did not bother to hold necessary consultations prior to preparing the Bill.

It remained to be seen whether the move for an appeal against the High Court verdict would be effective. Framing a new law would be preferable, he said.
