Authority for Mulayam

LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet on Tuesday night authorised Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav to take decisions following the resignation of four Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) Ministers.

Mr. Yadav told journalists that RLD president Ajit Singh had not withdrawn support to the Government.

He had discussed the cane price issue with Mr. Singh over telephone.

He denied that Mr. Singh was kept in the dark on the move to hike the price.

Mr. Yadav said he was in touch with farmers and they were satisfied with the current hike in the price.
