NEW DELHI: This is an opportunity for all those amateur rock bands to get their act together. The third edition of Hero Honda Campus Rock Idols -- an inter-college rock music competition for amateur bands -- begins this Saturday.

The winner of this year's competition will get an opportunity to debut alongside internationally acclaimed rock band "Iron Maiden''.

The rock idols tour will be held across 10 cities over a period of two months and the competition will conclude with a grand finale at Pune on February 11.

The regional events will begin with Shillong followed by Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Manipal, Indore, Chandigarh, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Pune. The country will be divided into North, East, West and South zones.

All aspiring participants should be college students and they are required to attach their identity cards with the entry forms. The band members should be less than 25 years and each band can have a minimum of three members and a maximum of 10.

A jury of senior representatives from the music industry will shortlist the winners of the respective cities. The zonal finals will be held in Delhi, Kolkata, Manipal and Pune. The two toppers of each zone will battle it out in the grand finale.
