DDA auctions residential plots

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Development Authority on Wednesday auctioned 25 residential plots in North-West Delhi and West Delhi, raking in Rs. 37.87 crores against the reserve price of Rs. 16.59 crores.

While 14 plots were located in Model Town, 11 were in Vikaspuri. The plots in Model Town ranged between 225 sq. m. and 292.5 sq. m., while the plots in Vikaspuri ranged from 98 sq.m. to 124.6 sq.m. On Thursday, residential plots in Vikaspuri, Jasola Pocket-II, Prashant Vihar, Ashok Vihar (Phase-II) and Naraina Vihar will be auctioned.

Water supply to be affected

NEW DELHI: Because of repairs being carried out to the South Delhi mains feeding the Deer Park reservoir and booster stations, water supply will not be available in Vasant Kunj, Munirka, JNU, Mehrauli, IIT, Green Park, Safdarjung Development Area, Katwaria Sarai, Jia Sarai, Adchini, D-Block Janakpuri, Sagar Pur, R. K. Puram, Saidullah Jab, Lado Sarai, Ber Sarai, Arjun Nagar, Gautam Nagar, Yusuf Sarai, Haus Khas, Naraina Village, C and B Block Naraina and adjoining areas between Thursday evening and Friday evening.

Russian varsities' officials in Delhi

NEW DELHI: The Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor of Stavropol State Medical Academy (SSMA) -- one of 12 Russian medical universities recognised by the Medical Council of India -- are here to explore avenues of cooperation and collaboration with Indian universities in technology transfer and tie-up for technical services.

"We have held talks with representatives of certain . We are also interested in opening a branch of our academy in the country," said SSMA Chancellor Boris D. Minayev.

Indian diaspora meeting concludes

NEW DELHI: The five-day multi-event on the creative tracks of the Indian diaspora ended at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) here on Wednesday. Delivering the valedictory address, Kerala Governor R. L. Bhatia said Indians abroad were the goodwill ambassadors of our country and called upon them to help the country in its development process.

`Black tea is good'

NEW DELHI: Heart Care Foundation of India president K. K. Aggarwal has said that having tea without milk is good for health.

Quoting from a study published in the European Heart Journal, Dr. Aggarwal said tests on 16 volunteers showed that black tea significantly improves dilation in the "brachial arteries" but adding milk reduces that effect.
