Philately exhibition

The Philatelists and Numismatics Association of St. Joseph's College, Lalbagh Road, will conduct its annual postage stamps, coins, currency notes and postal stationery exhibition at the Humanities Block of the college on January 11 and 12.

Garment technology

Fernandes bereaved

L.A.D. Fernandes, retired General Manager, State Bank of India, died in Mumbai recently following a cardiac arrest. He was 76. He was the elder brother of Oscar Fernandes, Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment. He is survived by wife and six children.

Kannada classes

Kannada Prasaara Parishat will start spoken Kannada classes from January 14. A release said separate classes are arranged for learning Kannada script and on improving Kannada language. Classes will be held only on Sundays from 10 a.m. at Hosmat Hospital premises, Magrath Road. Details can be had on ph: 9448878569.

Book release

The book, "Allama-Anubhaava", was released on Monday at Surana College by junior pontiff Sri Basavakumara Swamy of Brihanmath, Chitradurga. Allamaprabhu was one of the best Vachanakaars of the 12th Century. Director-General of Police Ajai Kumar Singh spoke about the book edited by principal K.E. Radhakrishna. Writer G.S. Siddalingaih was present.

Pranayama
