BANGALORE: The police on Thursday sought the permission of the 1st Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court to subject Imran Jalal, a suspected terrorist who was arrested here on Friday last, to narco analysis. Bangalore Police Commissioner Neelam Achuta Rao told The Hindu that once the court granted the permission, Imran would be subjected to narco analysis. The police teams from Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra and Gujarat had come here and they were interrogating Imran, Mr. Achuta Rao said. While there were reports that Imran's father had come to Bangalore from Kashmir, the commissioner said the police had not summoned him. The commissioner said that in view of the threat to the Bangalore airport, on Tuesday he reviewed the security arrangements with the officials of the Airport Authority of India, CISF and intelligence agencies. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) Soumendu Mukherjee held a meeting with the representatives of IT companies and discussed the security arrangements at their facilities, Mr. Achuta Rao said.
Measures initiated
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Infosys Nandan M. Nilekani on Thursday said security measures had been initiated at the Infosys offices to meet the threat of terrorists. Speaking to presspersons here after disclosing the third quarter performance of the Infosys, he said that steps had been taken in this regard.
