The Karnataka Pradesh Bank Employees' Federation has clarified that it has only requested the Chief Minister to grant additional holidays for bank employees under the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881 and not declared additional holidays as reported in these columns on January 10. In a release, the federation said holidays to bank employees could be declared only by the State Government and not the employees' federation.
