According to a survey done by the transport authorities the four-wheelers on road are growing at the rate of 10 per cent per annum in this city, which is quite phenomenal when compared to the big cities all across the globe. This proves that, festive season or not, automobiles are purchased throughout the year. But Rama Rao of Lakshmi Hyundai points out that the sales go up marginally during the festive seasons. "In general many people opt for an auspicious day for taking delivery of the vehicle. This props up the sales during festive seasons," he says. January being the month of Pongal, automobile dealers are gearing up for a major boost in sales during the three-day festival. While some have offers in stake others are banking on new models.
Maruti
The dealers of Maruti products, Varun Motors and Avnash Auto, are hoping the new Zen Estilo would woo the customers to their showroom. Both the dealers have a host of offers like 50 per cent insurance off on Alto, gift cheques for Rs. 25,000 on Swift and Rs. 15,000 on Wagon R and 100 per cent insurance free on Maruti's staple product the 800.
General Motors
Orange Auto the dealers of GM has a new model in store for the Vizagites. Ramu of Orange Auto informs that Aveo-UVA the latest hatchback model from GM's stable is all set to hit the road on January 18 in Visakhapatnam. The car is loaded with a host of features to compete with the best in the hatchback segment. Mr. Rama Rao of Lakshmi Hyundai informs that the sedan class car has created waves in the US, Europe and other Asian countries. Verna comes in petrol and diesel models, in 1.6 litres and 1.5 litres respectively. Offers are also there on Getz and Accent. While Getz has a discount of Rs. 36,000, the price of Accent has been slashed by Rs. 60,000.
Toyota
For the festive season Toyota has launched a limited edition of Innova with enhanced features. The limited edition will be available for a period of three months from January at Leela Krishna Toyota, dealers for Toyota in the city. The limited edition comes in two new colours with enhanced exterior and interior features.
