All set for `raw food festival'

Staff Reporter

Consumption of raw food prevents accumulation of fat in the body

VIJAYAWADA: A devotional music concert and a raw food festival will be conducted in the city on January 20.

The programme will be held at S.V.S. Kalyana Mandapam opposite Jyothi Mahal near Benz Circle, in which as many as 30 dishes, including sweets and salads made of vegetables, fruits and sprouts, will be showcased and served.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, S. Sivannarayana, organiser of the programme and a trainer of Siddha Samadhi Yoga (SSY), said that the `Amruthahara Raw Food Festival' conducted twice in Guntur was a big hit with people participating in large numbers. Raw food was a concept promoted by Rishi Prabhakar Guruji, who had trained thousands of people in SSY.

"Consumption of raw food helps people keep their health in good condition.

It will not allow accumulation of fat and keeps people away from obesity," he said.

Healthy concept

Mr. Sivannarayana said that promotion of raw food was the need of the hour, as it would encourage the sale of vegetables and fruits and discourage the use of cooking fuel.

Similar festivals would be held in major towns and cities across the State.

"Plans are afoot to open a raw food restaurant in the city," he said. Organisers G.R.N. Gupta and V.V. Ratna Prasad were present.
