TIRUCHI: Sports Hostels and Chennai zone won the overall title in the boys' and girls' sections respectively at the 49th State-level Republic Day athletic meet here on Friday.

The results: Boys: Under-19: 100m: 1. A.J. Mohammed Fayaz (NHSS, Kumbakonam, 11s), 2. S.S. Ajith (CMS MHSS, Coimbatore), 3. M. Ramachandran (Sports School). 110m hurdles: 1. P. Packiaraj (NLC SH, 15.7s), 2. P. Kesavaramani (LMC HSS, Sirkali), 3. N. Karrupasamy (NS HSS). Long jump: 1. R. Manikandan (BV HSS, Salem, 6.85m), 2. S. Sujin (St. Francis HSS, Vavarai), 3. P. Kesavaramani. High jump: 1. C. Nikhil Chittrarasu (SH-Tirunelveli, 1.99m, NMR), 2. A. Karthikeyan, 3. L. Yogaraj (SH-Tirunelveli). Under-17: 100m: 1. P. Deepan (Selvam MHS, Namakkal, 11.8s), 2. K.
