Short film festival at book fair

CHENNAI : An 11-minute short film on the 9/11 tragedy was screened at the inaugural of the documentary and short film festival at the book fair on Friday evening.

The Sean Penn-directed short film belongs to a set of 11 films, directed by 11 directors from as many countries, reflecting on the terrorist attack on the World Trade Centre in the U.S.

Parithi Illamvazhuthi, Minister for Information, , lauded the Book Sellers and Publishers Association of South India for holding the film festival with the book fair. Every evening till January 21 feature films, directed by Akira Kurosawa, Satyajit Ray, Oliver Stone, besides those of Sa. Kandasamy, Sivakumar, and Leena Manimehalai, will be featured.
