Horatti for reintroduction of craft education in schools

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The first-of-its-kind training in call centre jobs for unemployed rural youth from economically weaker sections of society announced by the Government will be followed by similar training in other fields.

Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Basavaraj Horatti on Friday said the Government was planning to offer job-oriented training even to youths from rural areas, who have failed in the SSLC examination to make them employable.

Mr. Horatti was speaking after inaugurating the first batch of students who registered for call centre training here. Regretting the discontinuing of craft education in high schools, which helped students learn different ways of making a living, Mr. Horatti said the Government would reintroduce the subject.
