Shiva Kumar opened bank account in another name

Introducer was Renukappa, owner of the vehicle driven by Shiva Kumar

BANGALORE: In the latest revelation at the hearing of the Pratibha murder case, the main accused Shiva Kumar was found to have opened a bank account giving his name as "Shivamurthy".

A document in this regard was produced on Friday before a Fast Track Sessions Court hearing the case.

The accused has a savings bank account with Andhra Bank's extension counter at Kammavari Sangha Institute of Technology (KSIT) in Bangalore. The account holder's name is given as Shivamurthy. It bears the photograph of the accused. The contact phone number given is 9242299754. According to details collected by the police, five calls were made from this number to 9880269652, the mobile phone of Pratibha.

Deposing before the court on Thursday, Renukappa said he knew the accused well.

Renukappa, who owns the house where the accused lived, said Shiva Kumar's wife was pregnant when her husband was arrested. "We did not want her to stay alone in the house. Hence, I asked her to contact her relatives and leave the house." She went to her aunt's house on December 16, 2005.
