Two die in fire accident

BANGALORE: Two sisters died in an accidental fire that broke out at their house in Mathikere in Yeshwanthpur police station limits on Thursday. The police said the incident occurred at the house of Murugan, who deals in scrap plastic goods. Around midnight, Murugan reportedly lighted a kerosene stove.

Following a spark from the stove, plastic scrap stored inside the single-room house caught fire. Subsequently, there was an electric short circuit. While Murugan's wife Vanila and sister-in-law died, Murugan is battling for life in Victoria Hospital.

Theft in hotel

Gold ornaments worth Rs. 50,000 were stolen from a room in Hotel Bangalore International in High Grounds police station limits on Thursday.

The police said a French national had purchased the ornaments from a shop on Commercial Street.
