KANNUR: A. Abhishekh, a class X student of the Kottankulangara GV High School, Chavara, could not be sadder when he reached here on Saturday to participate in the Nadaswaram competition in the State Schools Arts Festival being held here.
Wrong intimation
He reached here with his father, Madhusoodhanan, to take part in the competition only to find that the event was held on Friday. As per the intimation he had received, the competition was scheduled for January 13. He broke down when he learnt that he had missed the opportunity to perform and win, due to somebody else's error. Abhishekh, who had secured an `A' grade in the last State schools fete held in Kochi, was confident of securing the grade this time as well. He had also stood first in the Nadaswaram competitions in the past three district-level schools festival. He has been practising under S. Krishnakumar.
Lodges complaint
Abhishek lodged a complaint with Director Public Instruction M. Sivasankar. The organisers of the event assured him that they would positively address his plight.
