9,834 students to get cycles this year

Dharmapuri: The process of assembling of cycles to be distributed to plus one and plus two students is underway in Dharmapuri district. The District Administration has proposed to distribute free cycles to 9,834 SC/ST, MBC, BC and OC students in Dharmapuri district in the current year, said Collector Pankaj Kumar Bansal here on Saturday.

Of this 7,547 cycles would be distributed to Adi-dravidar and SC/ST students, 2238 to BC and MBC students and 49 to students belonging to other communities. To begin with the process of assembling of 3,300 cycles was underway in all schools in Dharmapuri district.

Inspecting the assembling of cycles at the Ilakiampatti Government Higher Secondary School near here the Collector said that the distribution would commence after receiving instructions from the State Government. The Collector instructed Block Development Officers to inspect the quality of cycles in the concerned schools.
