Women's football championship

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : The 11th State inter-district senior women's football championship for the Major T.P. Francis memorial trophy will begin at the Agriculture College ground, Vellayani, on Monday.

Eight teams, including the defending champion Pathanamthitta, will take part in the tournament which will act as trials for selecting the team for the National Games.

Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Alappuzha, Thrissur, Malappuram and Pathanamthitta are the other teams taking part in the tournament. Kozhikode will take on Thrissur in the inaugural match of the tournament.
