Johannesburg: Amandeep Johl missed the cut in his opening event on the 2007 European Tour after carding a one-over 72 at the inaugural Johannesburg Open at the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club's East course. Johl, who will next play in Pakistan Open, where he finished second last year, had a total of three-over 146 in a tournament that had 202 starters and the first two rounds were held on two courses. James Kingston of South Africa moved into a share of the lead with compatriots Hennie Otto and Jakobus Roos at the halfway stage.
Chopra slips
At Honolulu, Daniel Chopra ran into putting problems and ended with a two-over 72 that dropped him to a tied 62nd place after the second round of the Sony Open, the season's first full field event of the year on US Tour. It was a steep fall for the Indian-origin Swede since he was placed 24th at the end of the first round. He, however, made the cut, just on the line as it came at even par 140.
Fujikawa makes history
But the star of the day was 16-year-old Tadd Fujikawa, who became the second youngest player in PGA Tour history to make a cut. Fujikawa had an eagle at the last to finish eight off the lead after a 66. Agencies
