BHUBANESWAR : The State Election Commission on Saturday clarified that the recognised political parties that had not informed the Commission about fielding candidates for Zilla Parishad Member posts within seven days from the issue of poll notification cannot claim for allotment of their party symbols for their nominees. According to an official release issued by the Commission on Saturday, the parties which had failed to inform the Commission in Form-17 about fielding candidates who would fight on their official party symbol cannot do the same by filling up Form-18 or by writing on their official pad.
