CUTTACK : The picturesque Barabati Stadium is getting a facelift as it gets ready to host the second ODI cricket match between India and West Indies on January 24 next. This would be the second international match to be played here under floodlights. The first day-night match was played here way back in 2004 when the New Zealand team toured the country. "Since the BCCI has allotted the ODI to OCA after a gap of nearly three years, we are definitely energised and will not leave any stone unturned to make the match a grand success," said the Orissa Cricket Association (OCA) secretary Ashirbad Behera on Saturday The stadium, ground and pitch is ready for thematch, he added.
Help assured
Behera said several preparatory meetings have been held recently and the State Government has assured to extend all help to OCA for organising the match successfully. He said the stadium has a capacity for 30,190 spectators, out of which only 15,000 tickets would be available for the general public.
