Horlicks campaign to help overcome exam phobia

Staff Reporter

Interactive sessions to give tips for preparing better

HYDERABAD: These are trying days indeed for children and parents alike, with hardly two months to go for the board examinations, be it SSC, CBSE or ICSE.

Negative emotions like fear, tension, anxiety, diffidence, and even boredom are bound to bog down the students, while parents and teachers keep harping on discipline and long hours of study.

The result, exams become a phobia undermining the confidence of students.

Precisely for the reason, Horlicks, is organising a campaign `Exam ka bhoot bhagao' in city from February 1 to help students prepare better for exams through interactive sessions to be held with students and their parents for three days.

The campaign launched on January 8 is being taken to 14 cities across the country to provide students with valuable exam tips on how to cope with exam stress and prepare better for exams.

There would be tips for parents and teachers too on how to deal with children and students on this issue.

`Exam ka bhoot bhagao' interactive sessions will cover modules such as how to make students sharp at studies, preferred learning styles, selective study and prioritising subjects, study plans, health and nutrition and many more.

Horlicks will provide students with booklet on exam tips, teachers and principals with booklet on health tips, parental guidance and tips to be given to students on how to be sharper at studies.

Starting January till March, when students begin to feel the palpitations of exam fear, there is a need to make them feel encouraged and provide them with practical and emotional support not only to overcome the fear of exams but to prepare better for it, says a campaigner.
