Foreign liquor seized

CHENNAI: The Chennai police seized 650 premium foreign liquor bottles valued at Rs. 6.5lakh and arrested three persons here on Saturday.

On a tip-off a special team from Triplicane raided a building at Awulia Sahib Street, Ellis Road near Triplicane police station on Friday, where they found the bottles of imported liquor brands.

The bottles were clandestinely brought from Sri Lanka. Joint Commissioner of Police (Central) Sandeep Rai Rathore, DCP (Triplicane) M. Ramasubramanian among others, inspected the seized liquor.

Abdul Hakeem (35), Shahul (22) and Ansari (37) were remanded to judicial custody.
