Mr. H.V.R. Iengar, Chairman of the State Bank, is being appointed Governor of the Reserve Bank to succeed Mr. B. Rama Rao, whose resignation has been accepted. Mr. P.C. Bhattacharya, Finance Secretary, is being appointed Chairman of the State Bank.
