Samajotsava: KPCC fiat to partymen

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: Concerned over the participation of some of its members in the Virat Hindu Samajotsava conventions at the taluk and district centres, the Congress has shot off letters to its block and district committees asking them not to associate with these "saffron" conventions.

`Hidden agenda'

KPCC president M. Mallikarjun Kharge told The Hindu that the letters had been despatched on January 12. The party had told its taluk and district committees that the above samajotsava had an hidden agenda of fundamentalism being propagated by the BJP, he said.

The party is also learnt to have asked its districts and taluk units to hold counter conventions to create awareness about the "hidden agenda" of the samajotsava, sources said.
