Malappuram first in TTI, Arabic festivals

Kollam comes second; Kannur and Wayanad share third prize in TTI festival

PROUD MOMENT: The Kozhikode team that won the overall championship in the 47th State Schools Arts Festival which concluded in Kannur on Sunday.

KANNUR: Malappuram district emerged first in the teachers' training institute (TTI) festival, held along with the State Schools Arts Festival, which concluded here on Sunday, by winning 100 points.

Kollam stood second with 98 points and Kannur and Wayanad third with 96 each. The institute at Naimarmoola in Kasaragod was on top of the list of TTIs that scored more number of points. It bagged 51 points, while Valummal TTI, Moolakkadavu, Wayanad, was close behind with 50 points.

In the Arabic Kalotsavam, Malappuram stood first with 207 points followed by Kozhikode with 201 and Ernakulam with 195.

The Government Higher Secondary School (HSS), Kallar, Idukki, was on top among the schools which participated in the Arabic Kalotsavam. It pocketed 92 points. WOVHSS Muttil, Wayanad, and MGHSS, Erattupetta, Kottayam, stood second and third, with 57 and 54 points, respectively.

A-grade winners

Arabic Kalolsavam: recitation (girls): Thahilya Beegam M.K., ICAEHS Vadakkekad, Nusaira T.P., VKPKHMMRVHSS, Padanna, and Farha K. SHMGVHSS, Edavana, won first three ranks among the 12-A grade winners; recitation (boys): Fairooz Abdulla M.K., GHSS, Pilikkode, Marsad P.K., GHSS, Kuttikattor, and Abdul Khayyoom P.P., GHSS, Kunnakkavu, were ranked first three among the A-grade winners.

TTI Kalotsavam: Mappilapattu: Neethu K.B., VPPTTI, Cheerachi Ollur; Vinitha V., TSPPTTI, Airanimuttam; Nejiya Majeed, Baker Memorial PPTTI, Kottayam; Ranjini R.K., Government PPTTI, Kozhikode; Chithrarachana, watercolour: Prabitha N.R., NMPPTTI, Cheruthuruthy, and Deepa Cicily C.A., SPPTTI Chembareky.

Group dance: Anjali Narayanan, SJAIGHSS, Kozhikode; C.V. Vijayalakshmi, SJSCGHSS, Thriupunithura; and Janet James, SJHS Pushpagiri were ranked top three among 21 A grade winners.

Ottamthullal (girls): Ruby K. John, KVRHS, Shoranur; Greeshma Rajandran, SCSGHSS, Nellimoodu; and Swathi S. Das, CAHSS, Alappuzha; were ranked first three among 16 participants who got A grade.

Indu Sivadas, SHCGHSS Thrissur, Athira E.V., SCHSS, Ranni, and Sujala S. Jayapal were ranked first three among 12 A grade winners.

Arabic Kaloslavam: group song: Sherin P.P., SOHS, Areakode, Rashique IAEHSS, Kottakkal, and Nusaira, VKPKHMMRVHSS, Padanna, were ranked first three among 11 A grade winners.

Upanyasam: Dhanush V.V., Peralasseri, Bineesh Babu P., VPMSNDPHSS, Kazhimbram, and Kamaljith K.E., RHS Neeleswaram were ranked first three among eight A grade winners.
