NEW DELHI: An alleged inter-State gangster was arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi police at Timarpur in North Delhi on Saturday. A country-made firearm was recovered from his possession. Acting on a tip-off that Rakesh Bawaria, who was involved in several cases of murder and robberies, would come near the Yamuna bio-diversity park at Timarpur to meet his accomplices, a team led by Inspector Rajkumar laid a trap and arrested him.
Interrogation
During interrogation, Rakesh allegedly confessed to his involvement in 40 cases in Punjab, Utter Pardesh, Madhya Pardesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pardesh and Karnataka. His first involvement was in a dacoity-cum-murder case, in which he along with his accomplices murdered a veterinary doctor and injured four other family members before fleeing with cash and jewellery.
