Two persons drown in tank
According to sources, Auxilin (7) along with her grandmother, Lordhu, went to the tank to take bath. Meanwhile, she fell into the tank. On seeing, her grandmother tried to save her. As Auxilin caught hold of her grandmother's sari, she could not swim and hence, both of them drowned. The police recovered the bodies.

Three arrested
the parents of Senthilkumar of VVCR Nagar, lodged a complaint with the police that their son was missing since December 24. The police arrested Raja employed at a TASMAC shop. He confessed that Senthilkumar after consuming liquor demanded free eatables. He also said that Abdul Hasan and Akbar Basha murdered Senthilkumar and threw the body into the Kalingarayan canal.
