New CJI

The former judge of the Supreme Court, V.R. Krishna Iyer, has rightly described Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan as a people's judge (Jan. 14). We hope Mr. Balakrishnan will help in redesigning the justice delivery system to ensure speedy disposal of cases.

Here is another person besides President Abdul Kalam who has risen to high office from humble beginnings. It is a reiteration of the fact that for any individual who is willing to work hard, the sky is the limit.
