TIRUPATI: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams and Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham are joining hands to set up a medical college and general hospital. TTD's Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) and the educational wing of Kanchi Mutt are expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding to set up a trust this week for establishing Sri Padmavathi Medical College near the airport in Renigunta. However, the management encountered a number of obstacles in mobilising finance. SVIMS will provide 60 acres and Kanchi trust will meet the expenditure.
