HYDERABAD: The 48th National Cost Convention 2007, slated to be held here between January 18 and 20 will focus on training and motivational aspects of both students, cost and works / management practitioners to make them globally competitive. At a press conference here on Tuesday, convention committee president, Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI) Dhananjay Vishnu Joshi said continuing professional education (CPE) was a priority area for the institute to make members, the Indian professionals truly competitive in the global arena. The convention theme was `Accelerating economic growth - unlocking value by management accountants', Mr. Joshi said, adding that the changing scenario had led to the word `management' being added to the original Cost and Works Accountants. The institute was introducing new courses He said it was a matter of pride that ICWAI members included chairmen of such organisations like the ONGC, CIL and MTNL.
