Easy for CYC, Milagres sweats

MANGALORE: Milagres College (Kallianpur) and Canara Youth Council (Mangalore) posted contrasting wins in their KSCA Mangalore zone second division cricket tournament knockout and pool fixture respectively here on Tuesday. While Milagres got the better of Kings Sports Club (Kulai) by nine runs in its knockout tie, Canara thrashed United N Cricketers (Mangalore) by 142 runs in its pool `A' tie.

Second division: Knock-out: Milagres 187 in 39.1 overs (Divesh Kumar 38, Sunil five for 16) beat Kings 176 in 39.4 overs (Shiva 48); Pool A: Canara 265 in 45 overs (Raheem 72, Iqbal 69, Clarence four for 49) beat United 123 in 32.1 overs (Majeed four for 14).

Monday's scores:

First division: Pool `A': Mangalore University Campus 197 in 47.2 overs (Janardhan 55) beat Mangalore Sports Club 132 in 25.4 overs (Ankith K. 58, Raghu four for 25). — Staff Reporter
