Sanuth stars as Harisree Masters scores big win

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Left-arm spinner M.E. Sanuth scalped six wickets as Harisree Masters crushed SBT `B' by 135 runs in the Canara Bank-TDCA `A' division cricket league here on Tuesday.

Sanuth took six for 11 to bowl out SBT `B' for 113. SBT `B' was chasing 249 for victory.

The scores:

Harisree Masters CC 248 in 44.1 overs (Anfal 47, Kevin Oscar five for 95) bt SBT `B' 113 in 30.4 overs (M.E. Sanuth six for 11).

Ernakulam boys in final

Sterling performances from Jaisal Kohli and Jacob Jeeson helped defending champion Ernakulam enter the under-16 boys final of the K.C.M. Mather memorial State inter-District tennis championship at the Regional Sports Centre indoor courts in Kochi on Tuesday evening. Ernakulam drubbed Thrissur 2-0 without dropping a game.

The results: Men's quarterfinals: Ernakulam bt Kasargod 2-0; Thrissur bt Malappuram 2-0; Kollam bt Palakkad 2-0.

Under-16 boys: Semifinals: Ernakulam bt Thrissur 2-0; Thiruvananthapuram bt Kannur 2-0. Quarterfinals: Thrissur bt Kasargod 2-0; Kannur bt Malappuram 2-0; Thiruvananthapuram bt Palakkad 2-0.

Women's semifinal: Thrissur bt Kasargod 2-0.Quarterfinal: Ernakulam bt Palakkad 2-0.

Comtrust RC posts win

Comtrust RC beat Arjuna SC 1-0 in the Videocon Kozhikode District `D' Division football league in Kozhikode on Tuesday.

Later, Eagles defeated KSEB 1-0.

On Monday, Udaya SC thrashed Govt. ITI 4-1, while St. Joseph's BHSS defeated Athanikkal Brothers 2-1.

AP Sports School advances

Andhra Pradesh Sports School defeated Malabar Special Police HSS (Kerala) 2-0 and entered the quarterfinals of the Mar Athanasious Trophy inter-school football tournament at the Municipal Stadium, Aluva, on Tuesday. Captain M. Bharath (48th minute) and R. Ramesh (56th) scored the goals.

Big win for Lovers XI

Lovers XI defeated Capstocks Varah CC by 66 runs in the Canara Bank-TDCA `C' division cricket league in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.

The scores: Lovers XI 194 in 39.4 overs (Anil Devaraj 55, Meena Kumar five for 50) bt Capstocks Varah 128 in 28.2 overs (Rajeev 46).
