Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
The 7th Fast Track Session Court on Tuesday commenced trial in the murder of Nawaz Ahmed, the 21-year-old son of a businessman who in July 2004 was kidnapped and murdered, and whose body was found in an acid drum.
Three persons allegedly kidnapped Nawaz Ahmed, son of Riyaz Ahmed, and demanded a ransom of Rs. 1 crore. Before the ransom could be paid, the accused strangled Nawaz Ahmed with a wire and later poured acid on him.
The body was put into a drum containing sulphuric acid.
It was found near T. Hosahalli, off Chikkatirupati Road, on the outskirts of the city. Prosecutor V.K. Patil said 90 persons will be examined in the case.
