KARIMNAGAR: CPI-ML Praja Prathigatana group and Prathigatana group naxalites have attained a dubious distinction in Telangana region by resorting to forcible extortions at gunpoint.

These naxalite groups extort Rs. 1 to 3 crores per year annum in Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam districts as party fund from the various sections of the society.

A surrendered Praja Prathigatana group political secretary, Munigi Mallaiah alias Ravanna, made these startling revelations at a press conference here on Tuesday.

Ravanna, who was underground for about 20 years, worked in various positions, surrendered along with a deputy commander and two dalam members.

He was responding to queries from newsmen.

He said that the party top cadres were misusing the party fund.

He also alleged that the party top cadres ill-treat women .

Superintendent of Police Devendra Singh Chauhan charged the CPI-ML Praja Prathigatana group and Prathigatana group naxalites as extortionists.

They do not have any ideology, he said.
