Ahmadi performs Haj on invitation of Saudi King

NEW DELHI: Former Chief Justice of India A. M. Ahmadi and senior Congress leader Wasim Ahmed were among the Indian delegates who went to perform Haj this year on an invitation from Saudi King Abdullah. Nearly 1,000 Muslims from 37 countries were invited by the King for the pilgrimage to holy Mecca from December 27 to January 14.

Later, during an audience with the King, Justice Ahmadi and Mr. Wasim Ahmed, former Rajya Sabha member, thanked him for the arrangements. They conveyed good wishes to him on behalf of India. Reciprocating the gesture, the King conveyed his good wishes to the people of India and said he was looking forward to the visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Saudi Arabia, Mr. Wasim Ahmed said on Tuesday on his return. - PTI.
