NMR service to resume on January 20

Coimbatore: Traffic between Mettuppalayam and Udhagamandalam on the landslip-battered Ghat section in the Nilgiris Mountain Railway (NMR) will resume on January 20, Southern Railway General Manager Thomas Varghese said here on Tuesday. Talking to reporters Mr.Varghese said the damage owing to the landslip was heavy.

Restoration works had almost been completed at a cost of about Rs 1 crore, he added.
