The Native Medical

Care Trust

will plant 10,000

saplings throughout

the district as part of development

programme it carries out along with the

aravanis (the transgender section). A press

release from the

NMCT has said that

300 pairs of eyes of

aravanis will also be

pledged for donation.

The announcement has been made to mark the annual Aravani Day

that the trust celebrated on January 18 every year to bring this community into the mainstream. The week-long programme would be inaugurated at Thudialur, the release said.

Exhibition

Chitrakala Academy

will hold its annual art exhibition from

January 18 to 22 at the Kasthuri Sreenivasan Art Gallery at Peelamedu on Avanashi Road.
