Former vice-principal of ALC dead

Father V.T. George, a former vice-principal and lecturer in Economics at Andhra Loyola College, breathed his last at Secunderabad on January 15, according to Rev. Fr. A. Theckemury, director of ALC Alumni Association. The burial of Fr. George's mortal remains will take place on the campus of ALC at 3.30 p.m. on January 18.

Plea against

bifurcation

Samaikyandhra Samrakshana Samithi, an organisation floated to fight for united Andhra Pradesh, called upon people to give up demands for bifurcation of the State.

State convenor N. Srihari said that committees would be formed in all places to achieve the objectives.

The city committee will have A. Venkata Ramana as president, while other officer-bearers are: vice presidents: Moturi Subba Rao Choudary, M Hanumantha Rao, Pattan Jani, P. Mohan Rao, U Ramayogi; general secretary: K Ramesh, publicity secretary: Kota Jairaj, secretary R Suresh Kumar, joint secretaries: G.Ayyappa, V. Kiran Kumar and treasurer: K.Kishore.
