ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri on Tuesday said that Pakistan had given a detailed and comprehensive package for the resolution of the Siachen issue and it was time for India to seriously consider the matter. ``The ball is in India's court," Mr. Kasuri told reporters at a seminar on international migration here. He said that Pakistani Foreign Secretary Riaz Muhammad Khan had handed over the package on Siachen to his Indian counterpart. The package could be helpful in identifying troop positions at the glacier. Mr. Kasuri said that he supported Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's suggestion for making Siachen a "mountain of peace" by controlling the activity of military on both sides. The official APP news agency quoted him as saying that the fight at the Siachen battlefield lasting 26 years, greatly affected the lives of armed personnel and said that the issue needed to be resolved.
