SCR penalises ticketless passengers

During ticket checking drives conducted last month, the South Central Railway (SCR) realised an amount of Rs.2.19 lakhs as penalty from 1,277 passengers who were travelling without ticket or unbooked luggage. The SCR deployed 144 ticket checking staff and 25 Railway Protection Force personnel for the drive in which 147 trains were thoroughly checked.

Seed firm's distinction

Proagro Seed Company Pvt.Ltd, a Hyderabad based company of Bayer CropScience-Bioscience, was one of the finalists for Golden Peacock awards for Corporate Social Responsibility awards. The company is implementing `Child Care Programme" in Andhra Pradesh to eradicate child labour in hybrid cotton seed production farms. TCS, Satyam, SAIL, Coca - Cola India, HPCL, NTPC, ONGC, etc. are among the other finalists.

Oil, gas conservation fortnight inaugurated

The need for conserving petroleum and gas was stressed by Rajeshwar Tiwari, member secretary, Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board here on Tuesday.

Inaugurating the oil and gas conservation fortnight organised by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, (HPCL). Others who spoke included Indane Gas State Coordinator Udaya Bhaskar and HPCL State Coordinator S. K. Suri.

meet on Jan. 22

The monthly customer meet of the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited will be held on January 22 from 10.30 a.m. at all the offices of BSNL area managers. Customers can send letters pertaining to service, commercial and billing matters to the respective area managers latest by January 18.
