  • Tickets priced at Rs. 200, Rs. 300 and Rs. 750

Bangalore: Tickets for next months "Aero India 2007," India's premier defence and aerospace exposition to be held at Air Force Station, Yelahanka, on the outskirts of Bangalore, will go on sale from Thursday.

The five-day air show, which will feature over 80 aircraft in flying and static displays, 450 exhibitors, and showcase aerospace and defence technologies from both the western and Russian stables, is to kick off on February 7.

    Exhibition halls

While tickets for the general public for entry into the flying display area will be priced at Rs. 200 a day on weekdays and Rs. 300 over the weekend, admission to the swanky exhibition halls will be at Rs. 750 a day.

    Tickets

Tickets will be available through a number of branches of Canara Bank, at the entrance to some malls such as Garuda Mall and Forum, at the International Technology Park Limited and also through a few clubs such as the Bangalore Golf Club and Bowring Institute. The organisers of Aero India 2007 — a consortium consisting of the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Farnborough International Limited — are also drawing up a scheme that will allow tickets to be distributed through a few schools: The idea being to promote the concept of aerospace among the young. According to Kuldip Singh Khalsa, event manager Four Eleven Communications, the idea of selling tickets through clubs, malls and branches of Canara Bank, and even schools, was an attempt "to go to the people with the tickets, rather than the people going to get the tickets."

Tickets can also be ordered via the telephone by calling numbers 25566510 or 9845020264.

The organisers hope to sell around 2 lakh tickets.
