NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday extended the stay on implementation of the Central Information Commission (CIC) order directing the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to disclose the marks obtained by "aggrieved'' candidates who had appeared for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination-2006.

Earlier, the Delhi High Court had on a petition filed by the UPSC on November 27 last year stayed implementation of the CIC order till January 16.

In the ensuing period, the aggrieved candidates, who have formed an informal group called "Transparency Seekers", had through their counsel filed the reply for vacating the stay.

Hearing the petition on Tuesday, Justice S. K. Paul said the matter would come up for final hearing on March 20 as Justice B. D. Ahmed, in whose court the matter was scheduled to come up, was on leave.

Aggrieved

Meanwhile, the UPSC has sought permission to file a rejoinder to the reply submitted by the aggrieved candidates.

The court has allowed the UPSC to do so and said the petition would be taken up for final disposal on March 20.

The CIC, approached by the aggrieved candidates last year, had asked the UPSC to furnish individual marks and cut-off marks in each subject to the aggrieved candidates. The UPSC had earlier denied them the same.
