Rupee rallies smartly

MUMBAI: The rupee rallied smartly on Wednesday and ended at the nearly one-year high of 44.1850/1950 a dollar in volatile trade following exporters'dollar sales amid low crude oil prices against the close of 44.2750 on Tuesday.

The rupee began trading on a steady note at 44.26/27 a dollar and later moved in a range of 44.16-44.30 as refiners bought dollars in early trade alternated by dollar selling by some foreign banks during the day. — PTI
