Karnataka to defend title

KOLKATA: Karnataka will defend the title in the Calcutta Cricket & Football Club (CC&FC) organised second Twenty20 cricket tournament that starts here on Thursday.

Apart from Karnataka, other teams in the fray are last year's runner-up Indian Airlines, Cricket Association of Bengal, ONGC, Chemplast Sanmar (Chennai) and Lankan Masters.

Chemplast has a number of Tamil Nadu stars, while Indian Airlines and ONGC will have the best of North Zone talent.

The Rs.2 lakh prize money tournament is likely to see India stars like Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag and Mohammad Kaif in action. — Special Correspondent
